PLTW PROJECT LEAD THE WAY This program is aimed at increasing student exposure and understanding of the various opportunities available in engineering. This program focuses on middle school and high school students. It exposes them to a pre-engineering curriculum that offers students the chance to find out what the various fields of engineering entail and if an engineering career is something they may wish to pursue in college. PLTW is a national not-for-profit organization established to help address the nation's shortage, quality, and diversity of engineers graduating in the United States.
PLTW MATERIALS & PROCEDURES Most of the work for this portion of the class is done in class. There is not a textbook for this portion of the class, so students need to do a good job of keeping the materials (handouts) provided to them by the teacher. Duplicate handouts will not be provided due to the number of handouts and the cost involved in making those handouts. Please be sure your student is keeping all work in their science binder. Some materials are posted for viewing, but only may be viewed using the password your child has been provided. These materials are protected by copywrite laws and should not be downloaded or printed for any reason. Your child will be provided with the materials they need in class. This option to view PowerPoints and presentations is a courtesy for those that may have been absent and need this information to complete the assigned activity.
